Correlation Command Buttons

The Command Buttons for the Define Correlations window include:

  • Help - Open help resources (online or local, based on @RISK settings); see Help Button for more information.
  • Edit Correlation - Add, remove, or edit inputs; also includes commands for working with instances. See Edit Correlation Matrix for more information.
    • Append - Add inputs or rows to a correlation matrix.
    • Remove - Remove inputs or rows from a correlation matrix.
    • Replace Input - If the selected row or rows in the correlation matrix are inputs, remove the currently selected input(s) and replace them with different inputs.
    • Fill In Slot - If the selected row or rows in the correlation matrix are missing inputs, opens a dialog to select inputs for those rows.
    • Reorder Rows - Opens the Reorder Inputs dialog to modify the order of rows in the matrix.
    • Instances - Create, modify, or remove instances of a correlation matrix. See Correlation Instance Editor.
  • Settings/Actions - Window-specific settings and actions. The Define Correlations options are:
    • Delete Matrix - Removes the correlation matrix or copula from the @RISK model entirely.
    • Please note: Deleting a correlation matrix will remove that matrix from the worksheet, and this action cannot be undone!

This will not remove the inputs that are a part of the correlation! However, it will remove the RiskCorrmat property function from any inputs connected to the correlation matrix.

    • Check Matrix Consistency - Check the consistency of the correlation coefficients. If @RISK detects that the correlation coefficients are invalid, it will prompt for permission to correct the coefficient values to the closest valid matrix values. See Correlation Matrix Consistency for more information.
    • Correlation matrixes created in the Define Correlations window are automatically checked for consistency when the 'OK' button is clicked.

    • Use Adjustment Weights - Use adjustment weights when correcting inconsistent correlation coefficients; these weights (values ranging from 0 to 100) control how @RISK will correct coefficient values. See Correlation Adjustment Weights for more information.
  • Correlation Coefficients - View and edit the correlation coefficients. See Define Correlation Matrix.
  • Correlation Adjustment Weights - Only available when 'Use Adjustment Weights' is selected from the Settings/Actions button (see above). View and edit the correlation coefficient weights. See Correlation Adjustment Weights.
  • Graphs - View the correlation or copula matrix with the graphs of the input distributions and scatter plots of correlated inputs. For correlations, coefficients can be edited from this screen. See Correlation Graphs.
  • Instance Editor - View and the correlation or copula instances. See Instance Editor.
