The first time @RISK is started, the Welcome screen will open. The Welcome screen can also be opened manually from the @RISK Menu. The Welcome screen includes up-to-date news and announcements as well as several key shortcuts.

Unless it is disabled, the Welcome screen will open every time @RISK is started.

To disable the Welcome screen, uncheck the Show Welcome Screen at Startup box at the bottom of the window, or go to General Preferences and uncheck the Show Welcome Screen box.

To enable the Welcome screen after it has been disabled, go to General Preferences and check the Show Welcome Screen box.

The content available in the Welcome screen is:

  • Carousel - The carousel rotates between links to various Palisade information pages, including Webinars and Custom Solutions.
  • The arrows of the carousel can be used to move between slides. Clicking a slide will launch the default browser and open a page on the Palisade Web site.

  • Shortcut buttons - These buttons will launch the default browser and go to pages on the Palisade Web site. Shortcuts to Customer Case Studies and Training and Events pages.
  • Recent Files - A list of the five most recently opened files.
  • Only @RISK simulated model files will be displayed in this list.

  • Resources - Quick links to the @RISK user manual, guides, and the technical support Web site.
  • The Help Reference link will open either the online help or the local help (CHM format), depending on how @RISK is configured. See General Preferences for more information about using online help.
